I was hungry and you gave me something to eat;
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink;
I was a stranger and you invited me in;
I needed clothes and you clothed me;
I was sick and you looked after me;
I was in prison and you came to visit me… (Matthew 25: 35-36)
If you are involved in sharing the love of God with the poor, in word and deed, then you are the reason we exist as an organization. By providing free design services to Christian organizations in South Asia, the staff and volunteers of Engineering Ministries International: India desire to serve you as you serve others.
Read on to find out how…
In operation since 1982, with projects in over 70 nations, EMI is the most professional and experienced cross-cultural non-profit design service available in the world. In South Asia since 1998, eMi2 has been networking Christian workers, volunteer design professionals, and student interns to carry out planning and design projects for schools, hospitals, orphanages, water supply systems, and training centers. Combining practical design and cultural experience, our goal is to develop a culturally sensitive design that expresses the ministry's vision.
eMi2 provides design and planning services for approved development projects through a consultation process. The finished product typically consists of architectural or engineering drawings, reports, or estimates.
STEP 1 Technical Assistance Application…
This application helps us understand basic information about our clients, their ministries, and the project they are proposing.
STEP 2 Conceptual Design…
With project approval, the design process can begin – starting with a pre-project meeting, followed by a eMi2 team visit to the site, and ending with the production of Conceptual Design Documents. This step usually takes 6 to 8 months.
STEP 3 Detailed Design…
As the project approaches construction, the ministry may require a more detailed set of architectural and engineering plans. eMi2 is able to work with the ministry to follow up on, refine, and add detail to the Conceptual Design Documents.
