eMi² mobilizes volunteer teams to provide design and planning services for approved development projects through a consultation process. Understanding your ministry and project is the first part of that process and goal of Step 1. Here are some key parts and conditions of Step 1:

• » Technical Assistance Application

  Client ministries must apply for the service. This application and the supporting information we request in it helps us to understand basic information about our clients, their ministries, and the project they are proposing. eMi² takes no action to schedule or coordinate a volunteer team for your project until we possess a completed project application which is reviewed internally and formally approved.

  

• » The cost of waiting

  Client ministries must be ready to wait for assistance. Non-profit design services are not available immediately. eMi² entertains completed project applications in a queue system, and, in order to mobilize a team, projects are planned 6-8 months in advance. • » Hospitality and travel reimbursement

  Client ministries must be able to host the eMi² volunteer team and provide basic food and lodging and transportation for the team during a 5-7 day visit to the site. Also, the ministry must be able to reimburse the round-trip travel cost of all eMi² staff members (usually one or two persons) attending the trip from the eMi² office in India. These reimbursements help to offset the cost of eMi² servicing your project.

• » Investing in South Asia

  Client ministries must now be willing to consider re-investing in eMi²’s ministry. Since 1998, we continue to offer non-profit design services. As funds are raised for your development project with the expertise and materials you received from us, we ask you to consider re-investing in our ministry. Consider re-investing at least 1% of the first phase cost of your development project. Your re-investment enables other ministries like yours to continue to avail of free design services from eMi².
