The 4-month internship at eMi² starts in mid-August and ends in mid-December. This season covers the end of monsoon to the beginning of winter and is a particularly pleasant time of year to visit India. The internship starts with orientation at EMI’s headquarters in the USA, followed by a South Asia-specific orientation once you arrive in India. Soon after these times of equipping, you’ll be seeing India by rail with your project leader on the way to your first eMi² project trip, and then working with a team of volunteer design professionals to serve a South Asian ministry in the field.
After getting back to the eMi² office, you’ll find a routine in relationships and work which will help you feel at home. Other highlights of the 4-month internship: eMi² group prayer days, a seminar on Indian culture (many of the most important Indian festivals are in this season of the year), an intern group culture road-trip to a nearby city, and intern holidays for trekking in the mountains or exploring Rajasthan or...
4-month interns get a rewarding sample of life, professional work, and ministry at eMi² in India. Relationships get space to grow with your fellow interns, staff, your local church and community. You’ll sing in Hindi during worship in your church and you’ll learn about surveying or design of spaces in India or about how to remediate and improve a water system. You’ll experience God in greater and deeper ways and have a chance to hear Him maybe just a bit more clearly through the change in setting. In fact, you may find that it all winds up too soon... No worries in that case – we know how you feel; some of the best internships we’ve seen have used the 4-month internship as a launching pad for going deeper in a follow-up 6-month internship... celebrate Christmas in India!
The total cost for 4-month internships at eMi² is typically $US 5700. Visit EMI's website for more information on internship costs. For a 4-month mid-August to mid-December internship at eMi², apply before March 26 of the same year.
