Project Scope
Scripture Union – India is an organization committed to make God’s good news known to children, young people, and families and to encourage them to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer. This ministry has been serving churches in India over 100 years. Scripture Union – India, Family Ministry Department is committed to helping families to reach their full potential in their relationship with the Lord and within the family by teaching Biblical principles and values, using a multimedia driven approach and experiential learning through activities and games. Scripture Union Family Ministries Department aims to COMMUNICATE biblical principles and ethics for marriages and family, to CARRY out activities and programs especially designed to encourage families to make their good marriages better and spend quality & quantity time together, to COUNSEL and encourage families to face the challenges within marriage & maintain purity in the marriage relationship, and to CHALLENGE families to make a difference in the intimidating society by offering Bible based family enrichment resources which provide practical tools to equip, to build marriages and to enrich families spiritually.

The site is located at Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram as it is locally known in Tamil. Chennai is the nearest city which is about 60 Kms, away. The camp site is on the beach and the site of the proposed buildings will be about 400 meters from the shore line. The total area in which the existing and proposed buildings are to be accommodated is about 3 acres. However, the total area of the whole camp site is 10 acres. The topography is generally flat with a slight gradient towards the shore. Part of the area has been landscaped and contains casuarinas, coconut palms and mango trees among other general flora.

eMi² has been requested to assist with designs for a resource and conference centre, small office complex, and two staff quarters. A dedicated, state of the art, conference centre to conduct family ministry programs would enable the department to achieve its aim in a more effective manner. Scripture Union - India impacts an average of about 1000 families annually through the family life centre and their programs. Prayerfully consider joining eMi² in September to encourage this ministry in all that God has planned to impact many for His glory!
