Project Scope
Operation Equip India (OEI) was established in May of 1997 with a unique vision to equip India's disabled for a life of independence and advancement. After years of work with the disabled, OEI purchased 4 acres of property outside Hubli allowing the Ministry room to expand and to more easily reach rural areas. The property has been initially developed to provide for both residential care and location-based care. Currently, 40 residents are receiving care and rehabilitation on site.

In order to continue in the development of their work, OEI has set the following as priorities for development: 1. Extension of the existing center used for training, therapy, housing, ministering to physically handicapped people, 2. New conceptual design of the physical therapy room, 3. Consolidation of existing water supply into a single centralized facility with the possible inclusion of a rainwater harvesting system. Additional future developments will include: a medical rehab unit and therapy center, administration offices, community hall, guest quarters and boy's hostel, vocational training center, orthotic workshop, Income generation projects, landscaping and complete boundary wall, and staff quarters.

eMi2 has been requested by the OEI leadership to assist them in planning the continued development of the campus. The team will visit the project site in Hubli to develop a Conceptual Design for the purpose. The trip will take place in hot & dry weather conditions and the team's routine will be adjusted as appropriate. The project team will assemble in Bangalore and will travel to the project area by rail. Join our team as we venture into rural India this summer!
