EMI Project Portfolio
India- IET Regional Training Center, Siligur
India - NICO Ministry Base, Shimla

Joined eMi2: 2003

Family
I have one elder sister and two younger brothers. After moving to eMi2, I have become part of the big Oaklands’ family.

Professional Training and Experience
B Arch, University of Auckland, New Zealand (1996)
Hong Kong Institute of Architects & Registered Architect Hong Kong (since 2002)

After I graduated, I worked for a Hong Kong developer for 2 years, doing feasibility studies and development potential evaluation for different projects: high-rise residential, hotel, and office buildings. My second job was in a small architectural firm where I worked for 2 years. Projects include a single high-rise residential building and a youth campsite. Then I spent one year working for a medium size architectural firm. Projects include alteration works for airport and elderly centers, residential building and kindergarten. Since I joined EMI, I have the privilege to design school, children’s home and bible college for different ministries in India.

Ministry Experience
I have had the opportunity to serve in the ministry committee in my home church during 1998 and 1999. During that time, I have learnt more about the work of the great commission. My worldview was broadened and I started praying for opportunity to use my professional skill to serve in developing nations. In 1999, I came across eMi through the internet and In May 2000 I joined my first eMi project trip in India. In 2001 I came back to India as an intern for three months. Then in Feb 2003, I joined eMi2 office again as staff architect. It still amazed me how God has enabled me to serve Him in such a way, to experience the joy of serving Him and seeing Him at work in different nations. No matter how small my contribution is, it is my privilege and joy to be part of his kingdom work.

If God told me to live long term in a cross-cultural setting, the country I would chose...
India. I would never forget my first eMi project to Serampore in 2000 as a volunteer. I was crying not wanting to leave at the end of the trip.
